What is the Good Life? What truly brings us joy?
Iowa Interfaith Power & Light’s new program, The Good Life Redefined, examines these questions and more!
When we go to buy something, we don’t usually think about global warming, but one third of U.S. greenhouse gas emissions come from our “stuff”. The Good Life Redefined workshop explores how our stuff contributes to climate change and how we each can make a difference by finding meaningful ways to create more JOYFUL lives and reduce our impact on the environment.
How we choose to spend our time and money can make a big difference on our personal happiness and the well-being of the planet. As we focus less on stuff, and more on relationships with each other, the earth, and the life of the spirit, we find JOY.
In this two hour interactive workshop participants will reflect on what faith traditions have to say about the Good Life, examine their own ideas about the Good Life, and create a plan for a more joyful life that is easier on the planet. Join us for lively discussions!
Participants receive tips, resources and a handy pocket guide for making climate-friendly choices.

“We need to take up an ancient lesson, found in different religious traditions and also in the Bible. It is the conviction that “less is more”. Pope Francis
Buddha taught that respect for life and the natural world is essential. By living simply one can be in harmony with other creatures and learn to appreciate the interconnectedness of all that lives. It enables us to enjoy without possessing, and mutually benefit each other without manipulation.
